Many years ago when I began my little sign making venture, I lived in a very small town and I had never cast my eyes on a vinyl cutting plotter. Everything I created was hand lettered. Even though I was moderately speedy with a brush, making a sign was a time consuming one-at-a-time endeavor.
Along came my computer and the internet and a whole new way of doing things.
I purchased a plotter.
It was a huge decision because the plotter and the software to run it was the cost equivalent of purchasing a car.
It was a decision that changed my whole life and career and the way I conduct my business. It changed the way I create.
The downside to this at the time was lack of information.
I was on my own as far as figuring out materials, where to get supplies and how to make this marvelous machine work for me.
It wasn’t until a few years later that Google became my best friend and I could get speedy answers to my questions and exchange information with other sign makers and artists – people who were willing to share information.
Now I’d like to pass some of my experience and knowledge along to you.
From time to time I will post an article about different materials, file usage, some how-to’s and general tips and tricks that will hopefully make your vinyl adventures easier and a whole lot more fun.
Be seein’ ya!
